A Search for What Is Real: Finding Faith. Author McLaren has a way of speaking to the next, post-modern generation. I read this book, as well as the companion volume, A Search for What Makes Sense: Finding Faith
. In the present book, the author presents faith in Christ as a way of life that is authentic. He understands the struggle many youth (and older folks) have in connecting to Jesus and the Church. I think parents may want to read this book with their teenager or college age child who is wrestling with developing his or her own faith. For the more experiential, emotionally connected, this volume is a good one. For those who approach things a bit more from the head than the heart, the second one may make more sense (pardon the pun!).
